Ileana Corsi



Ileana was an undergraduate Biology major and Honors College student at FIU. She was a member of the honor society Sigma Alpha Lambda, a Peer Leader in the Biology PLTL program, and a research assistant at the FIU Periphyton Lab. She received the 2016 Robert J. Smiddy Excellence in Undergraduate Research award for her thesis based on her research in the DeGennaro Lab. Ileana is currently a Ph.D. student at the University of Texas at Houston.


Developed tools to use the GAL4-UAS system to study expression and function of mosquito host-recognition genes.
