My name is Luciano Simonetta, and I am a Biology major at FIU. My goal is to receive my master’s in molecular biology and establish myself in the scientific research community. My ultimate goal is to head my own laboratory and encourage others to pursue their scientific inquiries.
I am interested in the symbiotic relationship that Cassiopea xamachana establishes with Symbiodinium. My project consists of identifying the gene responsible for the notable blue chromoprotein in C. xamachana, cassio blue, and creating a knock-out organism.
